NOTE on SSL

Iframes seemed to be working perfectly for most people until Facebook added a new addition to their security settings and many have been encouraged to change their settings to only browse Facebook in https// mode.

That sounds like a great plan until you actually want to view someone's page that has a welcome page iframe set to http// It doesn't show up and instead throws a rather eerie warning about browsing an unsecured page.

I've looked high and low on the web for a solution and having fought my way through pages of unhappy web developers, marketers and business owners. I can't see a work around other than buying a SSL certificate for the domain that houses the welcome page files.

It is a shame that Facebook has not put any warning out about this prior to launching iFrames. iFrames is a fantastic concept and it really does allow a lot of information to be placed on your page. However that seems to come at a cost - it all depends if people are willing to pay for it.

I will be adding SSL to Activstudios domain. until then I'll keep this here for people to note in case they wonder what's going on with our Facebook. The bright side of this is that once we become fully secured with a SSL Activstudios will be able to offer client's secured pages to build their Facebook welcome pages on!

A quick update on the Jot Pro performance. Having had time to play around with the stylus I'm very impressed. It performs very well, and feels just like a normal pen. I tested the Jot Pro with the Audodesk Sketchpad app, and the control of the fine pens, brushes and pencils worked great.
I also downloaded Wacom's Bamboo Paper app, which was good for day to day notes and scribbling whilst on the phone.

I can now say that our studio is now a 100% paperless office. The printer was packed away 2 years ago when we moved to PDF for accounting, prototyping and storyboarding, and now the iPad and Jot stylus has enabled that notepad to finally be thrown in the bin!

Lets look after our trees, and all go digital.
